My friend Rizette asked me for suggestions where we can have her birthday dinner. After many, many suggestions she eventually came up with Enderun’s Restaurant 101 herself.
Enderun College is one of the Philippine’s premiere college for international hospitality management and business administration. Restaurant 101 is their application restaurant for their students to hone their skills.
The bread was good. Feel free to eat a lot of it since it was one of the better things to eat at the restaurant.
Rizette ordered a salad and a pasta from the regular menu for everyone to share. Both were delicious.

You can’t go wrong with pasta in a rich cream sauce and the amazing aroma of truffles. I mopped up the sauce with my bread.

We all ordered from the set menu either 2, 3 or 4 courses. Since I wasn’t really hungry I chose two courses only.

These are what my friends had.

The presentation of the smoked fish was really nice. The taste wasn’t bad either.

I tried the blue cheese croquette that came with the pumpkin soup and absolutely loved it! Strong, pungent, melted blue cheese wrapped in a crispy crust was something I would order in a flash.

I tried a piece of the pork neck and found it hard and dry.

I would never order boiled beef but Marco had the foresight and it was one of the better entrees that night.

The yummy sidings for the beef definitely helped. The boys were so excited when this large platter came out thinking each this was for one person. Alas two of them had to share it.

I ordered the seafood strudel. It was a good concept using crisp phyllo pastry to wrap around mixed seafood if only there wasn’t a fish taste to the dry seafood I would have enjoyed it.

Rizette’s thoughtful hubby, Eric, called ahead to order a sugar free dessert for the birthday girl and they created the mango mousse (below) which Riz enjoyed.
With the waiter’s suggestion I ordered the crepes with curd cheese stuffing. Not so good but not terrible.

The chocolate cake was hard and dry. I couldn’t help but mention this to the nice manager and he said that’s the way Sachertorte was supposed to be. Oh really? I never thought I would meet a chocolate cake I didn’t like.

Since we basically left our desserts untouched the manager sensed our sadness and gave us an order of Chocolate Delice.

Everybody loved the chocolatey creamy center with a crunchy base and dark chocolate glaze so much we promptly ordered another one. This dessert totally redeemed all the mediocre entrees and bad desserts.
While the others ate the molten chocolate cake I kept my fork on the Chocolate Delice.

Even though I wasn’t too impressed with the overall meal I enjoyed the company of my college buddies who I don’t get to see as often as I would like. Thanks for dinner Riz!!!
