I think I’m the only one in Manila who doesn’t frequent Pancake House. I used to though before the change of ownership.
I had lunch at Early Bird Breakfast Club then went to Makati Medical Hospital to visit my friend’s son who was confined for dengue. My friends and I stayed for so long in the patient’s room that before we knew it it was dinner time. We had dinner in Pancake House inside the hospital. By the way, the patient is now at home and well despite his tiring first day in the hospital with a bunch of loud aunties in his room.
A long, long time ago when I just started working my usual lunch was either Pancake House’s taco or the Hot Roast Chicken open faced sandwich with gravy. I’m happy that it was still as good as I remembered. Shredded strips of white meat (which I requested) on top of toasted bread and savory gravy was a satisfying meal. I just wish the bread was thinner. It was about 3/4″ thick. I also found it strange that the sidings were two kinds of potatoes which I didn’t eat. The fries were badly fried and were soaking in oil.

My friends ordered the rest. I remember when the taco was only P25. Did I just reveal my age? 😀

When I posted this picture on Instagram an eagle-eyed reader immediately asked, “where’s the chicken?” The chicken arrived late because my friend requested white meat. It was also extremely greasy so my friend didn’t bother eating it and I didn’t bother taking a picture.

I used to love their crispy waffle but this one was dry and hard. My friends said it’s not supposed to taste like that. Maybe it’s the branch we ate at?

hmm…so those are the prices nowadays. I love Pancake House, use to eat there every week when it was new in Ayala Center Cebu. An order of their Taco was always a must as an entree. But like you said, it was wayyyyyy cheaper then! I can also remember when the House Special Set was 100+ pa.
