What do you eat when you’re really hungry and craving for a hearty meal? I eat pork barbecue.
I usually bring my own lunch when I go to work. If I don’t bring anything I usually eat one of the rice meals I sell in my store. But when I’m really hungry there’s only one thing that will satisfy me – Reyes Barbecue’s pork barbecue.
The secret to their juicy pork are the perfectly square pieces of fat tucked in between each piece of pork. When grilled the fat melts and subtly coats the meat ensuring succulent pieces of grilled pork. The pork barbecue was seasoned well enough not to need anything but a dip in the peanut butter and soy sauce mixture they call Java sauce is the main reason I can finish the entire cup of nuclear orange rice. It’s a quirk of mine that I can’t eat rice without sauce.
Another time I tried their grilled liempo or pork belly and I found the taste lacking. Even a liberal dipping in Java sauce didn’t make me happy. I still love their pork barbecue more.
I’m proud to say the inihaw na liempo we sell in my store tastes much, much better.
