Regular readers of this blog know I LOVE cookies. I love them more than cupcakes, cronuts, donuts, ice cream and macarons. Although apple pie and cheesecake compete for a space in my heart and tummy.
Because there are very nice home bakers in Manila who want to show me their love they send me their cookie masterpieces.
I haven’t met Bea but as soon as I opened this box I wanted to declare my love to her.
Chocolate and peanut butter is one of my favorite combinations and I don’t think I’ve ever seen cookies with both in Manila. So far the best Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Chip Cookies I’ve ever eaten are from Levain in New York.
Since I can’t go to New York as much as I want I’m ecstatic that I can now order some from Flour Jar anytime I want. The Reese’s Chocolate Chewies were indeed super dark, super rich, fudgy and chewy. It was so chocolatey that it actually hurt my throat and it was the best kind of pain ever. Decadent chocolate cookies topped with Reese’s peanut butter chips made Leslie an extremely happy girl. Of all the cookies these were my favorite.

The Dark Chocolate Chewies were basically the same cookies without the PB chips so it was my second favorite.

I normally wouldn’t eat anything with white chocolate but I really liked the Cocomango Loco made with dried mango strips, Callebaut white chocolate and desiccated coconut. The chewy texture of the cookie and dried mango was fantastic. I can just imagine if Bea used dark chocolate instead. It will taste like those popular dried mango covered in dark chocolate.

A common trait with all of Flour Jar’s cookies are the spot on chewy texture. So if you prefer thin and crisp cookies these are not for you. As soon I got these cookies I transferred them all to an air tight container with a slice of bread. The bread absorbed the moisture that’s why my cookies lasted a week and remained chewy. After 3-4 days I replaced the rock hard bread with a new one. I loved my cookies so much I wanted them to last longer so I limited myself to 2 cookies a day.

The Dark Chocolate Chewy and Reese Chocolate Chewy cost P400 a dozen. Call or text Bea now at 0917-5075124 to order. If you’re not ready to commit to a dozen cookies you can also try her cookies at Toby’s Estate with a glass of Gibraltar, my favorite coffee at the moment.
