B&T Mexican Kitchen

I’ve heard a lot of good things about B&T Mexican Kitchen in Greenhills but it was only recently that I got to try their food.

B&T is owned & managed by Phillip Tan who used to be a partner in Ristras. He was the one who assisted me when I first tried Ristras way back in 2009. You can see his picture in my review of Ristras.

I went there late afternoon on a weekday supposedly to buy a ‘snack’. 

I don’t think I’ve ever seen so many ways of serving the usual Mexican meat fillings. Asides from the usual burritos and tacos they had several variations from the lighter salad to the more wicked fried concoctions. 

I wanted something new but also lighter and that meant no rice. I didn’t want a salad or something fried so I chose the tortilla wrap which was described as toasted tortilla loaded with cheese, salsa fresca, pico de gallo & fajita vegetables. I selected carnitas or shredded pork as my choice of meat. That’s what I usually try first to gauge a Mexican restaurant’s quality.

Even without rice my tortilla wrap was well stuffed with corn and other veggies. You can say it’s a complete meal in a wrap. 

I was quite pleased at how crunchy the tortilla was although I had to eat the humongous wrap right away because the wrap was slowly getting soggy from the liquid of the filling. The shredded pork was tender, spicy and had bold flavors that didn’t get lost amidst all the veggie condiments. The sour cream tamed the spiciness of the pork while giving the whole wrap a creamy texture. It came with a couple of sauces that I didn’t use since the tortilla wrap was as good and I didn’t feel it needed anything more. 

My ‘snack’ became a satisfying early dinner that kept me full until bedtime. I can’t wait to try their nachos which is my all time favorite Mexican food.
