The China Club, Hong Kong

We were invited for lunch at the China Club, a members only Shanghai-style club and restaurant located at the top 3 floors of the old Bank of China building in Central, Hong Kong. I loved the elevator which was covered with prints of popular Chinese cartoon, Old Master Q (老夫子; Lǎo Fū Zi). My dadContinue reading “The China Club, Hong Kong”

Cafe Key West at iSQUARE

We tried another restaurant at the newest mall in Tsim Sha Tsui called iSQUARE. Cafe Key West is very similar to Pokka Cafe and UCC Cafe. These are all restaurants of popular coffee brands from Japan. They sell their own brand of coffee called Key Coffee. Their menu was typical of a Japanese coffee shop.Continue reading “Cafe Key West at iSQUARE”

Caprice at Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong

For the life of me I will never understand how Caprice restaurant at the Four Seasons hotel in Hong Kong got the number 16 spot in the Miele guide to Asia’s top 20 restaurants. Lunch at Lung King Heen

I was excited to finally eat at Lung King Heen. It’s one of the best Chinese restaurants in Hong Kong. The only Chinese chef ever to receive this prestigious accolade, Executive Chinese Chef Chan Yan TakContinue reading “Lunch at Lung King Heen”

Sunday Feast at Grissini

We had lunch at my favorite Italian restaurant in Hong Kong, Grissini at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Wan Chai. As soon as you enter the restaurant you can smell the aroma of freshly baked grissini or breadsticks made on site. These are the lightest and crunchiest breadsticks I’ve ever eaten. They are best whenContinue reading “Sunday Feast at Grissini”

Gyu Jin Shabu Shabu & Sukiyaki

We walked around iSQUARE and checked out all the restaurants that were already opened. As soon as we peeked in this restaurant we knew we wanted to try it out. The next night we went back and had dinner in Gyu Jin Shabu Shabu & Sukiyaki without fully understanding what we were up against. SureContinue reading “Gyu Jin Shabu Shabu & Sukiyaki”

Hokkaido Ramen Santouka at iSQUARE

We were thrilled to see that the new mall near where we live was finally opened. The site used to be the Hyatt Regency Hotel and after years of construction it is now iSQUARE, a 31-storey high shopping mall. It has an approximately 600,000 square feet (56,000 m2) retail space area for shopping and entertainment.Continue reading “Hokkaido Ramen Santouka at iSQUARE”

Whenever we go to Hong Kong these are the restaurants we have to eat at. I have featured these 3 places numerous times before so I’m just combining them in one entry. These are the places we ate in the first day we arrived in Hong Kong after Macao. We had our first dim sumContinue reading “Some of our favorite restaurants in Hong Kong”
