Gourmandise Patisserie

We wanted to have mango sticky rice for dessert at Mango Tree but they ran out of mangoes so we walked to nearby Serendra to buy from two of the French pastry shops that I’ve been wanting try. First stop was Chef Sunshine Pengson’s ode to French eclairs. The small patisserie was beautifully decorated andContinue reading “Gourmandise Patisserie”

Yamato Bakery Cafe

Right next to Mitsuyado Sei-Men is a bread lovers haven called Yamato Bakery Cafe owned by the same group. I noticed diners waiting for a table at Mitsuyado were there shopping for bread. That’s a great way to pass time. This bakery has it’s roots from Japan unlike Bread Talk which came from Singapore. BothContinue reading “Yamato Bakery Cafe”

Kitchen’s Best Home Patisserie

When I received an invitation to partake of a dessert buffet it didn’t take me 5 seconds to reply a big YES!I must confess I wasn’t aware that Kitchen’s Best Home Patisserie had a store in the Fort. I only knew the brand from the days I was in the bazaar scene and would oftenContinue reading “Kitchen’s Best Home Patisserie”

Paris: Hédiard

Place de Madeleine is foodie’s area. We just stepped out of Fauchon when I saw Hédiard right across the street. I wasn’t as familiar with the store as Fauchon so I was quite amazed when I went in. Hédiard is fine grocery store. They carried pastries, candy, vegetables, coffee, spices, olive oil and many more.Continue reading “Paris: Hédiard”

Rome: Gelateria Lo Scimmiotto

I wasn’t planning to eat gelato at 10:30 in the morning. I just went in to waste time while waiting for Tazza D’Oro to open and this gelato shop was just across it. Look how near Gelateria Lo Scimmiotto was to the Pantheon. Of all the gelato we’ve eaten in Italy this was the most commercialContinue reading “Rome: Gelateria Lo Scimmiotto”

The Most Awesome Cookies EVER!!!

Cookies are my crack. I can give up cake, cupcake, donuts, muffins, ice cream for cookies. These cookies. I have to be honest. One of the reasons I go to New York is just to go to Levain to buy my favorite dark chocolate peanut butter chip cookies. So far those are my holy grail ofContinue reading “The Most Awesome Cookies EVER!!!”

Rome: Fior di Luna Gelato

No meal in Rome is complete without gelato for dessert. This was the only gelato store we saw in Travestere. I was initially hesitant since this was the first gelato we were going to eat that wasn’t held inside stainless covered cylinders. The sign for their ingredients gave me hope for good gelato. This wasContinue reading “Rome: Fior di Luna Gelato”
